These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Balance Academy (the "Platform"), operated by [LEGAL COMPANY NAME] ("Balance Academy", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the Arab Republic of Egypt under commercial registration number [COMMERCIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER], with its registered address at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. What Balance Academy Is

Balance Academy is an online marketplace that connects independent teachers ("Teachers") with students ("Students") for the purchase of educational video courses and course packages, primarily for the Egyptian primary (ابتدائي), preparatory (اعدادي), and secondary (ثانوي) education stages. Balance Academy is a facilitator of these transactions and a hosting/technology provider — it is not the employer of any Teacher, does not create the educational content it hosts, and is not a party to any tutoring relationship between a Teacher and a Student beyond facilitating the purchase and delivery of that Teacher's content through the Platform.

2. Accounts and Roles

The Platform has the following account types, each subject to these Terms:

  • Students purchase and view Courses and Packages.
  • Teachers create, price, and sell Courses and Packages, and receive payouts (their sale price minus the applicable commission described in Section 5).
  • Parents may be granted a linked account to monitor a Student's progress; a Parent account does not itself purchase or access course content.
  • Admin/Support accounts operate the Platform, approve Teacher accounts, set commissions, and provide customer support.

You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password confidential. You must be at least 13 years old to hold a Student account in your own name; younger students should be enrolled and supervised through a Parent account where required by law.

3. Teacher Terms

Teachers retain ownership of the educational content they upload ("Content"). By uploading Content, a Teacher grants Balance Academy a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, transcode, encrypt, store, stream, and display that Content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform and delivering it to Students who have purchased access. Teachers are solely responsible for ensuring their Content does not infringe any third party's copyright or other rights, is accurate, and complies with applicable Egyptian law. Balance Academy may review, reject, or remove Content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Teacher accounts are subject to admin approval before becoming active, and may be deactivated for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or sustained poor conduct toward Students.

4. Student Terms

Purchasing a Course or Package grants the purchasing Student a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to stream that content for personal educational use only, for as long as the specific Course or Package remains available on the Platform (or for any lifetime/term period stated at the time of purchase). This license does not grant ownership of the Content, and does not permit downloading, recording, screen-capturing, redistributing, publicly performing, reselling, or sharing account access to that Content. Balance Academy uses technical measures (including encrypted video delivery and session controls) to enforce this and may suspend an account engaged in or facilitating such activity.

5. Payments, Pricing, and Commission

All prices on the Platform are listed in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). Payments are processed through our third-party payment gateway (currently Paymob); Balance Academy does not directly store your full payment card details. A checkout processing fee, disclosed at checkout, is added to the listed price to cover payment-gateway costs; this fee is configured by Balance Academy and may be a fixed amount or a percentage of the purchase price.

Balance Academy charges each Teacher a commission on every Course/Package sale, agreed with that Teacher at the time their account is approved. The commission is a fixed EGP amount per education stage/grade (not a percentage of price) and is deducted from the sale price before the remaining amount is paid out to the Teacher.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

Because Courses and Packages provide instant digital access, purchases are generally final once access has been granted. A Student may request a refund within [X] days of purchase if they have not completed more than [X]% of the Course's lectures; refund requests are reviewed by Balance Academy support on a case-by-case basis and, where approved, are returned to the original payment method. The one-time Teacher "Pro" upgrade fee is non-refundable once the account has been upgraded. Nothing in this section limits any refund right a consumer has under mandatory Egyptian consumer-protection law.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials or allow another person to access the Platform using your account;
  • Attempt to download, record, decrypt, redistribute, or resell any Course/Package Content;
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security, access-control, or anti-piracy measure on the Platform;
  • Upload Content that infringes another's intellectual property or violates Egyptian law;
  • Use the Platform for any fraudulent, harassing, or unlawful purpose.

8. Suspension and Termination

Balance Academy may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraud or abuse, or poses a risk to other users or the Platform, with or without notice where the circumstances reasonably require it. You may close your own account at any time by contacting support.

9. Disclaimers

The Platform and all Content are provided "as is." Balance Academy does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or exam outcomes associated with any Teacher's Content, and is not responsible for the conduct of any Teacher, Student, or Parent.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Egyptian law, Balance Academy's total liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Balance Academy in the three (3) months preceding the claim. Balance Academy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Egypt, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection remedies available to you.

12. Changes to These Terms

Balance Academy may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
